  • 1969 Chevy Camaro

Well it only took over a year of searching, but finally found what I was looking for. Took me a while to realize I was being a little too picky, there are a few things I was looking for at the start that this car doesnt have (manual tranny especially) but I think it worked out for the best as I am going to mod and make it my own. Heres a little info:

    1969 Camaro
Admiral Blue (94-96 Corvette paint code) with white stripes
White/black houndstooth interior (installed less than 2 yrs ago)
GM 350ci HO crate engine (330 hp / 380 tq - installed less than 2 yrs ago)
700R4 auto transmission with shift kit (installed less than 2 yrs ago)
10-Bolt rear end with 3.73 gears
Longtubes with American Thunder H-pipe and catback
Sony headunit (ipod hookup) with Pioneer speaker system
Autometer gauges (4-gauge pod in console)
Vintage Air AC system (was an original stock AC car)
    Fesler RS-style tail lights
    Billet Specialties Street Stars - 17x8" F / 17x9.5" R
Nitto 245/45/17 front tires - Cooper 285/40/17 rear tires
    4-wheel disc brakes
    Power steering

Plans for the car include swapping in a manual tranny quite soon... still deciding on exactly which to go with, but probably a T56 Magnum or TKO600. Then probably gonna tackle the rear end section and throw in a beefed up 12-bolt, gears, etc in the fall/winter. Then on the making a lot more power LOL.

These pics are from when I went down to look at the car, etc using my iPhone. The car was just delivered last night, and needs a nice detail. Ill post more pics after that I get it all cleaned up.

Thanks guys! Its funny how it all worked out... I went to the Goodguys car show here in Nashville about a month ago, saw it on the Saturday I was there (he was in the show), called the dude that night to maybe meet up Sunday to drive it, etc but he was leaving early AM to go back to Dallas. Just so happened I was going down to Dallas for a long weekend to visit some friends about 2 weeks later, so my buddy (has a '69 Buick GS) and I went and looked at it again and drove it when I was down there. Needless to say I fell in love with it, and just seemed right. What a coincidence too having a trip already planned to go to Dallas (not sure I would have paid airfare, etc just to go look/drive it).

What kind of power plans do you have? Heads/Cam/Intake? Power Adder? LSx swap? Fuel injection?

Im kinda torn right now... I think Im gonna stay true to the old school nature and go with a carbed big block. Although I have been toying with the idea of a nice LSx setup. Just two totally different setups, so gotta think about it. I really LOVE the sound/raw power of the thumping big blocks, so probably stay with that direction. Either way, Ill probably stay N/A... although it would be tempting to throw something on the LSx setup if I go that route. Im wanting to be in the 500-600 rwhp/tq range, but like I said before, Im doing all the supporting mods first, so a lot can change in a year or so.
